I've purchased brass badge for the tank. I was wondering if drilling hole will damage the tank or if it'll cause leaks. Has anyone done it?

Usually, what happens is that the tank explodes, causing serious injury or death to everyone around it.

There are ways that experts do it, but I am not going to take the responsibility of trying to tell somebody how to do it, and have them blow themselves up.

Attach the badge with epoxy adhesive.

Yes it will.

Almost certainly, and I bet they wished they hadn't afterwards.

The proper way of doing this is to get the job done by a recognized tank repair person, they know how to purge empty tanks of gas fumes (that can cause explosions) before inserting and welding/brazing captive nuts into the side of the tank, which will take the badge screws. Welding or brazing the tank will also damage the paint job, so that will need putting right afterwards too.

I'd follow Ace's epoxy tip if I were you!

You could also use 3M automotive double sided tape.

Do what he said. Quick, easy, reversible.

Yeah that's what I thought . I'll use epoxy adhesive . Removing the existing decal without leaving scratch on stank is a pain though!
