           Right. There's a lot of just plain common sense about Enfields.

           Just an aside: The hardest part (the ONLY hard part) of a filter change on my AVL (because of hand and wrist (and everywhere else) pain) is holding that damn cap in against the spring pressure to get the washer and nut on. That spring is ridiculously stiff (to me).

          There will come a day...... :(

I threw all claims to common sense out the window the day I bought this bike.
But yeah, a little hylomar on the threads of the stud, like Tom said works fine. It stays tacky so it's reversable. A little dab'll do ya.

Chuck, I agree  ;D.... I'll try that but small o-ring has to go to the right place. Ordered new washers and will re do them

           Yahbutt, it still helps "sometimes"  ;) ;)
RI USA '08 Black AVL Classic.9.8:1 ACEhead/manifold/canister. TM32/Open bottle/hot tube removed. Pertronix Coil. Fed mandates removed. Gr.TCI. Bobber seat. Battery in right side case. Decomp&all doodads removed. '30s Lucas taillight/7" visored headlight. Much blackout & wire/electrical upgrades.
