           Hey, Johno. No offence, but could you pleeez do me a big favor & add the 2nd 'o' to the words 'to' in your signature? It's a very clever phrase (I love it) & would mean so much more with two 'o's instead of just one   :)
None taken, however, I write in the Queens English  :P

Old dirt bike trick for ripping valve stems. If it's a full metal one with the nut you want to UNSCREW the nut and jam it against the valve cap NOT the rim. What this does is rather than ripping the stem from the tube it will start to "lean"  in the rim and if you keep an eye on things you should see it tilting as the tire is slipping on the rim. Mainly from too low of air pressure I have found. If you catch it in time just get the bike on the center stand let all the air out and walk the time back until the stem is straight again and pump it back up
