I noticed there is no bolt in the hole on the crankcase bottom just before the foot peg bolt.
It may not be used. I dunno. This is the spot where the front part of the bike stand frame is aligned. Nuthin' has fell apart yet so maybe I'm good to go or the bike might split in two on my nest sojourn.

Had a just the right size bolt and fllled the hole. My RE dealer said it may of been overlooked on assembly since he was 99% sure all crankcase holes should have a bolt.

Getting on your creeper and looking the bike over from the bottom up has it's rewards I guess.

Well that may satisfy you but I think some will wonder just what that was. If it was a hole in the crank case you would have had oil on the floor and none in the bike.

     Your dealers response is unhelpful to say the least.

    But you seem to be happy at the result and finding a bolt fitting into it!  but don't you mean a plug?    as in,--- drain plug.

     I think this will keep me awake tonight.

     Again as  4444 said --can you post a picy?

The hole in question was through the casting but not through the case to the guts inside.
If you bend down and look at your left footpeg mounting bolt there is a crankcase bolt about 1 inch in front of it that goes all the way across the case to the other side. Mine was missing.
