Tbey came out in 2009, the diffrence between early and newer models is quality control, vast improvements have been made over 6 years.
The engines remained the same.

I would say, externally, the engines are, "almost" the same.

They did add another oil drain plug sometime in the late 2014's (?), to get the dirty oil out of the area just underneath the crankshaft.

The torque and horsepower between the 2009 and the 2015 remains unchanged.

The biggest differences are engine cover cosmetic changes, shift mechanism changes and the drain plug as mentioned

Hey, Kevin, I didn't know about the shift mechanism changes.  What did they alter?

Don't be too stringent on year.  RE makes changes whenever they're ready.  Two bones from the same year can have differences.  All mostly minor as already mentioned.

Fwiw, there wre also AVLs sold in 2009 in the US alongside the UCEs.

Shift change was technical in nature and if you looked at you would not know the difference. slight revisions of a couple of parts.

They do make running changes which can be difficult to manage at times but it is better that they do it that way, so at least something gets done.

If that is the case, that would have something to do with how fast you can run it and for how far, between an early UCE and a later one. Mine is a 2013, not the first year, but not the last either. My recommendation for not running it over 60 mph is based on my bike. A 2015 might do better.

I just finished a 1200+mile round trip with my 2012 C5 and regularly ran between 60 and 65mph (indicated) with no problems at all. Touched on 70 briefly to pass a cager or two.
I'm now due an oil change, so we'll see what I find on the mag plug and sump screen when I get to it.

None of the changes impact the durability of the engine. You can run them hard all day long. You will not find that comfortable but it can be done. The UCE does not need to be babied and is a very robust engine
