  • Yeah I stepped in it.

I traded in my 2011 C5 mil today (got $2800) and bought a 2013 (new 0 miles) Kawasaki Ninja 650 R.  I will miss my RE very much but it was time to get something different more or less because I needed to make some changes. I don't regret getting a Royal Enfield I met a lot of people because of the two bikes. The 2011 C5 I think would have kept on keeping on for a whole lot longer.  Good luck to every one with their machines, stay safe if you can't stay sane.  So long

Have a great time with the Ninja.  And please stop by whenever you like.

Good luck Brash.  That 650R is a fine bike BTW, so enjoy it.  :)

Nearing 2000 miles on the new bike. I am taking it easy though. I have went and visited the C5 a couple of times. Poor girl looks out of place in the used bike line up. I was half tempted to break into my emergency fund and buy her back. Unfortunately two cents and some pocket lent wont get me very far.  I do miss the C5 but I am rather attached to the new bike.  The C5 was very popular and a lot of people has asked where she is.

If i remember rightly you went through some "teething pains" with that bike. I am glad you stuck with it though, good luck rooster.

Absolutely no offense to the OP, to each their own. But the Ninja 650 is simply not the bike for me. First, I cannot handle the riding position. I need a far more upright position. While my B5 works ok, I actually prefer the feet forward pullback position of a cruiser. Second, it is simply too smooth and refined. I love the Enfield's feel and sound. Kawasaki has now built a cruiser around the 650 motor, called the Vulcan S. But while it is comfortable, I just can't get past the looks of it. Putting a 270 degree crank in it might give it some character.

Anyway, best of luck and enjoy your new bike.
