Need to re-install a Classic turn signal (rear) when the rubber "arm" cracks or parts at the point it attaches to the fender?  Below are the steps I took to avoid spending big bucks for a replacement from CMW:

Tools:   a.  Damp towel
            b.  Gorilla glue
            c.  Painter's tape
            d.  Razor blade
            e.  Black marker or painter's pen

Directions:
1.  Wipe rubber end of signal and fender and remaining bolt with damp towel to remove dust, dirt, and grime.
2.  Apply glue to remaining bolt and inside of rubber end of signal.
3.  Wedge signal onto bolt.
4.  Use painter's tape to hold signal in place.  (I ran the tape around both lights and under and over the taillight in order to get of them level.- just a big loop.)
5.  Let set for about 2 hours then with razor blade CAREFULLY remove excess glue which has oozed out and started to set up.
6.  I then used the marker/paint pen to color the remaining evidence of the white glue residue.

End result looks professional.

Living in a country where I just cant get big bike parts.I have done this sort of thing many times.
I think time will tell you the rest of the story.

I pick up a tube of super glue on every trip the the supermarket.

Dunno Clamp, seems here in the states things have to have a funny name in order to sell. I try to avoid buy things with the funny names. However, I've heard the "G" glue is good. But there are others.

Oh,
Gorilla Snot was the name used to describe a British, green coloured, gel handcleaner when we worked with it in Sudan as it turned to liquid in the heat!!!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swarfega

By the way is an American Company called Harris International Telecommunications still around (HIT Khartoum)?
We were looking after the ferry aircraft and the guys were building satellite tracking staions (yeah in Sudan!!). Probably a CIA operation or something ha ha

Gorilla glue is simply the best glue I have ever found.  It is a staple around my house, show soles, broken drawers, ceramics, even rubber.  It expands so it gets into all the cracks and crevices for a really good hold.  I've never had it fail yet!

Does it say what it is made of ,--such as eurothane etc.

Is it a tube ,--tin?  What is the shelf life and how long does it take to dry.

I might be able to work out what it is, Im sure its not only In America.

We probably have it here but under a different name like crocodile crap, or  parrot vomit.

It comes in an Elmers glue like bottle. Gorilla Glue is a polyurethane glue.   I have several tubes, the quick set glues set in about 20 minutes.  The regular stuff takes 12hours or so.
I'd make sure to stay away from anything in the vomit line, the smell is horrid.

Ah,-  that sounds like a product called "Sikaflex". Its not sold in small tubes although it would be a good idea . The problem would be its shelf life after opening the tube.

Here it is sold in builders type tube cartons that need a pump gun to use it.

If its the stuff I am thinking of It is used to bed down various things in the marine industry such as teak decking.  Hence the 12 hour + variety

Most likely the same thing clamp.  In the small bottles people complain about the glue in the tip setting and making the rest of the tube useless.  I store mine upside down and haven't ever had a problem  ;)

Not sure about the glues your talking about, but if you'll store super glue in the refrigerator it will last a very long time.
