Hi,
do i imagine that everyone seems to be on GMT for the last 2 weeks or so?
I'm in South Africa and often like to get an idea of where other posters are....

I think it shows GMT.

It's currently showing 10:38 PM at the present time and it is 3:38 PM here in Phoenix.

If I had my " druthers", every one would be required to fill in the name of some town/city within 300 miles of their home and this information would show up in their posts.

I think its fun to talk to people half way round the world and have a good idea of approximately where they are.

At least tell the continent would be nice, the country would be even better.

I just checked my profile and it shows local time.  Don't recall what switch I threw when setting up my profile, but apparently it was the right one.  :)

Yes, it's nice to know where folks are when they post - it gives a better perspective on what background may shade their communications regarding the subject matter at hand.

Thanks Arizoni, TwinOKC, and AmBraCol. Sorry about my failure to respond.

I've found it:go to

forum profile
modify profile
look and layout
time zone offset
(i used auto-detect , it worked for me)
then "Change Profile" to update it

then we can better understand where each other is time-wise
