Just picked up a 05 Military. The former owner had installed a British Classic exhaust from CMW. He cut the rubber hose that connected to the old stock header pipe. Leaving the hose open, that connects to the pulse system located in the left tool box. Is that OK?

Can I remove the rest of the system? Do I plug the metal tube that runs from the carb manifold?

My old 03 classic did not have this system so its new to me. According to my Snidal manual all this system does is to, pulse air into the exhaust.

Thanks for your help.

My 07 has the system entirely removed.  I filled the hole in the toolbox grommet with a stainless steal bolt,  as I could not find a solid rubber replacement at the hardware store.   The space in the second tool box is best used for my spare tube and cables IMO.

I got rid of all the PAV stuff in the lhs toolbox.
Left more room to fit the homemade electronic ignition system!

The swich is just a 'crude' ignition interupt that stops the bike starting even if some bar$*"rd jams a screwdriver into the ignition barrel and the white LED on the opposite side is a timing light I built in.

Got it its gone. What did you use to plug the small metal tube at the carb intake manifold.

I found that by giving that vacuum tube takeoff a 'wiggle' you could remove it; turn it back and forth and it just comes out complete.
I then used a suitable self tapping screw with some sealant on it to seal up the hole!

The screw like L7M suggests works, so does filling the hole with JB Weld.  Excellent stuff!
