If your new C5 is like my G5 was, after checking the wiring to make sure it wasn't going to rub on sharp metal edges and covering the metal edges with some split tubing, there wasn't much to sort out.

Yah, I did check the nuts and I found one that holds the rear fender to the seat downtube loose but that's about it.

Oh.  Yes, I replaced the Bosch spark plug and after 3500 miles I replaced the rear chain.

Actually, except for adding some aftermarket stuff like a rear rack, crash bar and 7 inch headlight there wasn't much to do except enjoy riding it. :)

The biggest surprise with the 2014 Chrome C5 was how much better it was than I thought it was going to be. One of the best purchases I ever made.

Back in the day when everyone smoked, one of the cigarette companies had a slogan " It satisfies"  An apt discretion of a C5.  Nice little 40 mile ride today and enjoyed every minute of it.  The mileage is piling up without a peep and still using the Bosch original plug.  Good choice !

Thanks Scotty.  I recently had an opportunity to sit on one of the Continentals, and while I loved the bike - I wasn't sure it would work for me on long rides.  People always say that Sportsters don't make great touring machines, heck they say the same about Urals,  but when it's all I had at the time i'd ride for 16 hour days on the Sportster touring.  Worked fine - but I had it set up for touring which made it more comfortable.  I've done the same on Urals.  Doubt I'd do 16 hour days on a C5 but then again...never say never.....there's always something around the next bend I want to see....slowly. :D
