Hello all, I'm new to the world of Royal Enfield but after a holiday touring North West Spain on a great little Electra I found them to be the perfect tool perfectly suited to the bending mountain and coastal roads of the area. 2 days after returning I purchased a brand new Electra in British racing green and ready for collection this Saturday.
I live in Somerset U.K. and plan to use her to tour Europe next year, I have 2 Moto Guzzi's so the Electra shouldn't have to much of a hard life, some of the photo's posted on the forum have filled me with insperation this could become an expensive hobby.
Cheers
Dave. :)

Enfields and Guzzi's just go together.  Best of both worlds!  ;)

Thanks for the warm welcome all, I own a 1992 California 3 and a 1982 V35 Imola and previously owned a 1981 V50 and a 2003 V11 sport. I must admit I do like the look of the new V7 but think my next Guzzi will be another Cali, I drive a Fiat so it will make a change to have the Electra taking up space in the garage. Picking up the Enfield tomorrow morning the forecast is heavy rain all weekend and the dealer is 55 miles away so looks like I'm in for a fun ride home, the plan at the moment is to keep her standard for about 2000 miles and then put a performance kit on.

Dave,

If you want some Royal Enfield-riding company in that part of the UK, then you could also sign up on the Lonely Bob forum at http://tinytim.forumcircle.com/ and introduce yourself. As well as regular ride-outs you will get plenty of advice on how to ruin - sorry, customize - a nice new Electra.  ;D

If you're into cosmetic modifications Matt here has shown what can be done with the green model, have a look in the gallery if you haven't already done so.

Regards,

Adrian

Hi Adrian,
Thanks for the advice, I've had a quick look at the gallery and there are some real beautiful bikes out there, if I do customize the bike in any way it will be some way off when I have a clear image of how I want the bike to look.

Cheers
