We got another 3" in Denver too last night.  I think it's supposed to hit 40 tomorrow, but doesn't sound like it is warming up any time soon.  Normally when it snows here it is melted 2-3 days later, but it is sticking around for a few weeks this time I guess.

31℉ today, but sunny, and I'm off work today so I'm thinking about un-winterizing my bike, just so I can say I'm on the road by April, which is my arbitrary ultimatum.

Snow is still deep in spots; I pruned two of my four backyard apple trees a couple weeks ago in half the usual time because I didn't need a ladder; the four- to five-foot deep snow drifts held my weight and made the job quick and easy!

On the sunny side of the house, there's still plenty of carnage:

But wait... what's that?  Zoom in a bit closer...

Not quite sure... closer...

Ha!  First crocus of the year...  8)   Won't be long now, folks...

That you do, son!  Actually, whatever green you see in those photos is spring flowers coming up.  There's exposed grass near the driveway, but it's all still brown and ugly.

Anyone who chooses to move to Maine this time of year is truly a glass-half-full type of person, because it sure is ugly.  Brown snow, brown vegetation, thick brown mud everywhere...  Soon enough, though, the color will return!

Remember all that pissin' and moanin' about the snow and cold?  Well, its still a few weeks early, but... it's payback time!

My wife picking blueberries:

A small but tasty haul!

Huckleberries are in full swing up here in northeast Washington- kind of a kissing cousin to the blueberry, but only grows in the Pacific Northwest and bits of Montana - at least that is what they tell me.  We had such a mild winter that the berries are a little stressed for water, so some are a bit undersized.  Nature and her bounty is a good, good thing.

I smell blueberry pancakes an I'm not even there!!!
