Hello there,

I have quite finished the J2 bottom engine, and now going to see what is going into the head.
The rockers are OK, have no wear, but their bearings (the housings) are worn,  So the 1M $ question :
The cast iron rockers bearing doesn't really satisfy me :
- there is poor lubrication (the oil goes from a front pipe to the exhaust rocker housing, then via a little "canal" to the inlet one, and, as there isn't any more oil pression, the inlet top housing and the rocker are inevitably worn)
- The rockers 's side location are not on their top neither, and oftenly they don't rotate freely.
I thought about using some of the 250 Crusader Sports system, especially the rockers arms, as they are separated, and make a needle bearing monted axle.
What do you think about that, or an other solution ?
Your all lights will be welcome !

Claude

I would bore the housings for a split bronze bush.
We are doing this for the Ace Shotgun rocker blocks.
You'll need access to a good machine shop.
