Not sure which shocks he has but these are pretty popular.  They're not a great shock, but probably better than what comes on the Enfield.

When doing a search, found a set of those on Craigslist in Aurora, CO for $50 just now. Made an offer, we'll see if he bites. NO, I'm not cheap, just under-resourced....... :-D

The link was similar to this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1960s-to-1980s-Classic-Triumph-BSA-and-British-Bike-12-5-325mm-shocks-/331251620778?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4d20229baa

Same Aussie seller I got my 325mm shrouded shocks from. He has raised the price of the shocks by a bit now  :-\

When I checked again with my CL app, those shocks were posted only 4 hours earlier.

Are UCE shocks longer than Iron Barrel shocks?
Iron Barrel shocks are about 290mm, eye to eye.

I know my twin shocks are 12.5" CTC, but I just found this on H's site in reference to Hagons:

A choice of 3 lengths:
290mm Standard Redditch models
300mm Standard Indian models
320mm Standard for Electra (X) & EFI models

If you want to jump on them, Scotty, go for it. He hasn't responded to me anyway. I thought that might be your neck of the woods, that's why I posted it up. Scoop them up, if you can use them, great, if not, I will buy them off you later.

They're a bit longer or shorter, I can't remember which.

The stocks bottomed out on me also. Didnt matter what setting they were on. I was a cheapskate and put 80 buck oil filled shocks. Theyre really good. Never bottom out lotsa travel. Im on softest setting snd i weigh 200 pounds.
I was unhappy with the stock shocks as well, & put on a set of OIL FILLED SHOCKS (Girling knockoffs) as well. They happened to have just the right springs on them, & are all chromed. I believe they were about $90. Which I thought was reasonable (I did not have a couple of hundred to drop) Oddly enough they are made by the manufacturer of the stock shocks. I like them much better(oil being a lot easier to keep in than GAS) Still going great after 3 years, I expect at least a decade out of them. I rode many 20 year old Girling shocks.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

Stock C-5.... at least the 09's.... have 12.5 inch shocks.   Going longer on a B-5... say a half inch... MAY  give more travel, and it MAY slow down the steering as your weight is shifted forward.   But it will also shorten your wheel base a tad ... especially under load as the rear wheel and  swing arm want to run forward and under the bike.

It works nice for me, considering MY geometry and my riding position. And for the bikes geometry and wheel/tire size.    My bike sits slightly taller at the rear, unladen. With a 120/80/18 and a 90/90/19 in the front. With me on it, it sits about dead level , with my weight forward with low bars.   Taller bars will lighten the front end some... compressing the rear shock more as more weight is shifted back and the front end becomes lighter.     Just an example of what I found on my bike, you may find it different with a B-5......
