Kevin says. c5 has one more tooth on drive sprocket than g5 and c5 has 18 inch wheels while g5 has 19 inch wheels. Has any C5 owner put G5 wheel on their rear and has any G5 owner put C5 drive sprocket on their bike. A little weight transfer to the front might improve the handling of C5 ?

David -

many B5 and G5 riders with the 19" rear wheels have "upsized" their drive sprockets from 17T to 18T (the C5 comes with the latter), when mounting an o-ring or x-ring chain on their bikes, ostensibly so the chain will clear engine casing protrusions - although I've heard that this isn't necessary, and also that it is necessary... so YMMV.  But the answer to part of your question, anyway, is yes...

I don't think I've heard of a C5 owner switching to the 19 inch rear wheel that is used on the B and G 5's so I have no idea if this would improve the C5.

Here in Italy not many have replaced the sprocket with a larger one.
I also will do this job replacing it on my B5 from 17 teeth to 18 teeth.
Those who have already done this work was very satisfied: the bike has not increased its speed significantly but manages to maintain a cruising speed of 110-120 mph with improved comfort and less vibration.
Although the acceleration is improved with a longer and more gradual first gear.

Thanks to everyone for your help. Sounds like what I was hoping for, little higher cruising speed, or same cruising speed with more relaxed rpm but not so much as to ruin the acceleration. Thanks, guys.

Do you guys get 19" rear wheel on the B5 in the US? I thought all B5s (domestic & export) models came with 19" front and 18" rear wheel from the factory!

B5 wears 19" front and rear, just like the G5/Electra models

Hmmm...my 2014 B5 came with 19" front and 18" rear wheel. Wonder why they would want to have different specifications for different markets though!

B5 in the US is 500 cc (EFI) and its equivalent Bullet 500 (carburetor) in India have 19" front and 18" rear tyres.

HOWEVER Bullet 350 (carburetor) which is ONLY for India has 19" front and 19" rear tyre.

The figures in the Table below are taken from RE website India, RE website US and personal experience.

MODEL                            FRONT          REAR
B5 US                               19                18
G5 US                               19                19

Bullet 500 India                 19                 18
Bullet 350 India                 19                 19
Bullet Electra 350 India      19                 19

http://royalenfield.com/motorcycles/bullet-500#!technical-specification

NB - Some years back there was transition in tire sizes for some models. It will not be surprising if there are some discrepancies in certain year models.

Can you put a 19 tooth sprocket on a C5? Where would I get one?

19 tooth works well in the C5......Hitchcocks has both UK and Indian made ones. I am sure NFG will have these as well.
