Good Afternoon All,
Well we have finally finished the 1956 Super Meteor project. We wanted to thank you for all of your help and support. I have not been on the forum since March, but we have finally completed the job. We initially thought then problem was the ignition system, but in the final analysis it was valve spring binding that was causing all of the grief. We first thought that the bike was a constellation and ordered all new valve gear, but when we found out that it was a Super Meteor, we neglected to check back to see if valve springs and keepers were the same for both models. Well they are not. Thus the problem. We finally installed the correct valve gear and used a distributor. The bike will now start on the first or second kick Anyway thanks for the help and here are a couple of pictures of the end product. Cheers,
Roger
