While working on my bike, my friend from India stopped by to have a beer and see how it was going.  During my bathroom break, he tagged my bike with a flag sticker - I didn't notice right away, but it was well done and I think I'm going to keep it.

He has insisted all along that it is rather silly to put a British flag on a Indian bike, but this was his compromise and nod to the heritage of the bike.  He is a funny, funny guy and great motorcycle mechanic.

That's cool 8). Id like to see a modified version of this sticker, with the India flag instead of the checkered flag. The print on the sticker says "Made Like a Gun, The Enfield India LTD, Madras" So it would be a great combo. :D. Wish someone would do it.

Interesting idea.  Damn, I wish he'd put in on straight, though!  That slight misalignment would nag at me.  (OCD, probably.)   :-)

Nope. Needs to be a British flag. The Chevrolet Impala that was made in Canada is still an American car. The Volkswagon built n Mexico is still a German car. The Honda built in Ohio is still a Japanese car.

I understand the sentiment, but there is very very little remaining on the GT that has any real ties to the older British design. The stroke is the same, and the stud pattern is the same, and that is pretty much all.
Oh, and the Continental GT name.

This new GT is essentially an all Indian product, with maybe a few vestigial ties to the old.

Chevrolet, Volkswagon and Honda are existing American, German, and Japanese car companies.  RE as a British moto company has been dead and gone for years.

So, I disagree - as if anyone cares!  ;)

Both arguments are valid.  However, Royal Enfield is all about heritage, so a mixed British and Indian flag works well in that context.

Well, yeah, but the people who insist on that kinda stuff just have no sense of humor.  If you own an RE, you'd better have a sense of humor too ;)

Yeah Gearman gin some up please - Besides, the checkered flag looks cool and all but I doubt that any RE I've been on would win a race nowadays. ;)

RE, was purchased by the Indian company many moons ago and hence is an Indian Manufacturer...not a British Manufacturer..
So Mattsz I Do Agree :) or was it disagree ;D

With this approach, the company name Royal Enfield must be eliminated since the term "Royal" is bestowed on a BRITISH firm by thye king/queen, or sometimes Parliment. Therefore it must be no more than "Enfield" !!.........so.....British flag only if you want the name "Royal" >>!!
