I found this little country town in western Victoria on one of my running in rides ... And I thought -it might be fun if we got all the places called Enfield in the world in a thread ....

Enfield in London is where Royal Enfield got its name.  Eadie Manufacturing contracted to build parts for the Royal Small Arms Company in Enfield and the companies combined and change the name to Enfield Manufacturing Company in 1893, then later added the Royal to it. The name went through a few minor changes in the next decade or so, but that was the crux of the Enfield name that has been there since then.

Enfields in NH, Mass, Conn, NY, IL, OH, and SC. Probably most of the other states have one, too
Port Adelaide Enfield in Australia. The name came from joining the two cities, Enfield And Port Adelaide, in 1996.

Yup, Port Adelaide Enfield is a council area, the suburb of Enfield still exists as a separate entity. Maybe I'll go for a spin over there for a pic some time.

Getting the money together is a little hard on $400 a week :/
