Now that my 1923 built garage is going to be removed after taking a direct hit from my neighbours's tree a few months back. This looks like a really neat idea.

Its a telescoping bike shed

I saw that video about 20 minutes before you posted it. It's a good idea, but I wouldn't store my riding gear in it.

I like that telescoping bike shed, its a great idea. Hopefully not too expensive. Do you know how much one is? :D. The US made tent thing wouldn't work where I live, on top of a mountain its way too windy. :P

I like that all metal shed too. My only concern is how hot it will be during the summer when what I need is a cool shelter. Also, the Speedway shelter does handle high winds, at least according to the FAQs:
Quote
Is the SPEED-WAY SHELTER secure in wind and snow?

After you anchor your SPEED-WAY SHELTER you have the comfort of knowing it will handle very strong winds and snow loads. As well as other elements that could cause disruption of the shelters set-up. Every SPEED-WAY SHELTER also comes equipped with sewn-in tie down attachment points for more heavy wind conditions.

I'm not trying to sell their product, but I do think they have addressed your wind concerns.

I like the tin shed way more.  It'd be easy to put some vents in or even a solar powered roof fan and keep the temps down.  I actually like that it has places for all your gear, though I'd be more concerned with cold temps.  Nobody like to pull on ice cold leathers.  Brrrrrr!

I like it too..I was thinking more in line of moving some things that are in the garage out to it whereas I would have more room for the Bikes and accessories... 8)

4. If possible, find a location for your Speedway Shelter that is protected by a building or some other solid barrier.

Until I cleared enough space in the garage, I kept my G5 Deluxe inside the house. & I'd do it again, rather than leave it outdoors.

With 3 bikes already and the RE coming this spring I'd need 4 of the things...cheaper to build a garage I think.

But it's a neat idea and for a summer cottage it'd be just the ticket.

I live on a road that is named "Windy Hill Lane" for very good reasons. The claim "it will handle very strong winds " may or may not be true. I've seen a 8x10 wooden shed picked up about 30ft in the air and smashed back down into fire wood, a HD tent type car garage anchored & weighted down, battered till it ripped open, then take off like a Para-glider and be deposited 300 yards away in the woods. Its a real pain to have to go out & try to protect all your now exposed stuff in a bad wind & storm like that. No thanks, not for My current location.

I have a standard 16' wide 2 car garage with an automatic door. I keep 2 cars and 2 bikes in it. I also keep thousands of tools, parts, and supplies in it, and have a workbench. I keep 3 more bikes in what used to be my living room. I didn't need a living room since I live alone, so I converted it to a bike room. It's great, because I can work on bikes in cool air conditioned comfort (70 degrees F) when it is 115 degrees F outside in the summer) I keep my dual sport bike, a parts bike, and some more tools behind the house in a shed I built out of the back patio. I won't even leave a filthy dirt bike outside, as the sun would destroy it, and/or someone would steal it. I won't buy a bike unless I have an indoor place to keep it. I'm at my limit right now.

Yes, you could use that or tin snips to get into almost any metal building, or tent.

I think it's a great concept and idea.  Especially for those in the city that live in a condo or apartment complex.

Am I the only one concerned with security?

Let's not fool ourselves.  If you own a bike worth breaking into a storage box to steal, like an Aprilla, you wouldn't be keeping it in there anyways.  As you probably can afford a 4 bedroom house with a 3 stall garage.  I highly, highly doubt anyone would waste their time breaking into that unit knowing that a Bullet or a Honda Rebel was what is being stored inside.

My Aprilia was a leftover 2009 RXV450 dual sport, sold in 2012. Discounted from the original sticker price of 9998.00 down to 6400.00 out the door. I own a 20yo mobile home & spend what money I have on motorcycles!, Although I wish I had the 4 bdrm nice house on about 100+ acres ;). Hopefully the trailer will out last Me. :o Seeing as how I have heart problems it prob will.
