Well, honestly, I personally would try really hard to get it for a $1K.  But it's definitely not worth more than $2K.  I think $1200-$1500 would be a fair price for both parties tho.

Well I am sure that smoker is not planning to part it out and therefore has to balance the cost of trying to put a running motorcycle together against the cost of purchase.  Smoker is not buying a set of crankcases but the potential of a running classic motorcycle, not easy to value.

Good luck smoker.

Hi Chief
No real update, he said he's not selling. But just giving him time to think on it. Although he is the original owner, brought the bike over from London while overseas in 1970.  He's now in his late 70s said he wants to restore it, gave him my# and said call if you change your mind. So I hope he does.

Hello 2smoker
How did this deal workout? Did you end up with the bike? The correct front forks for the Series 2 are Norton Roadholders as used on the Norton/Matchless hybrids pre Commando. The Commando forks will not work as they are nearly 2" shorter.
Cheers and good luck.
These are definitely a worthwhile project bike.
