Sounds like valve clatter to me. A little too loose? Put a screwdriver on the engine with your ear to the handle to see if you can notice where it's loudest. That may help you figure exactly what's making the noise.  ERC

Another thing that can help determine exactly where the noise is coming from is a 2-3 foot long piece of garden hose.

Holding one end to the ear and moving the other end around the engine can rapidly narrow down the source of the noise. :)

If it's coming from the rocker arm covers, it's caused by loose valve adjustments so tighten them up just a bit.

Don't over do it.  With the piston at TDC they should spin freely when the engine is still cool, with just finger pressure.

If it's loose tighten it up more. Do as Arizoni says. ERC

when i asked that i thought you meant the actual valves.  not the rods.  Ill be sure to span them a bit and see how it sounds.  i thought i had adjusted them proper guess not.

Doesn't sound too different than mine. Was the engine warm or cold on the vid?  You did remove the exhaust valve lifter, right?

I think it sounds pretty normal.
Maybe just a little louder than normal, but a lot depends on the microphone in the recording.
I think it doesn't sound worrisome.

If you set the valves on a cold engine...and did it right...then leave it alone. It sounds alright to me.

On mine, when it's warm, I get the same tick. At cold, it's very quiet.

When you say decompressor, are you referring to the arm on the pushrod cover or so you mean the actual pushrod lifter sitting under the pushrod on the cam follower. It looks like a top hat. I saw it still there in one of your pics.

Yes but what is your definition of the "right point"?
