Redditch Fury 500 carb settings ...
 I thought this might be of interest for some - I have just finished setting up an Amal MK II 38mm carb on a genuine 'Big Head' Fury. It starts and runs perfectly and here are the settings:
 Slide = No3 cutaway
 Main jet = 380
 Needle jet = 107
 Needle = lowest groove [richest]
 Pilot jet = 45
 Starting jet = 60
 Air screw = 1.5 turns out.
 Full advance timing is 34 degrees BTDC [11mm]

Sorry hit post before I had finished.
Thanks for the info, I have played with the MKII's in the past, mainly on Triumphs, and never really got great results with it, I see now I should have been more patient.

Remember, your twin has 2 350cc cylinders which feed off that carb at different times during the engine rotations.  That 30mm carb is enough for that. The shared manifold ain't great for max performance, but it can service a modest street application.

As ace said, a bigger single carb is better than two smalls!
Plus more carbs = more things to tune ;)

It all depends on the size and application.
A carb that's too big can be as bad as one that's too small. Just in different ways.
When in doubt, size the carb the same as the inlet port entry.

Awe shucks, I was going to put a Demon 870 4 barrel on my bike.   ;D  Seriously tho, had I known more about my bike and Amal carbs before I bought the new 930, I would have definitely went with at least a 32mm.  I had a 30mm Monobloc on the bike so I replaced it with a 30mm concentric.  But I wish I had gone with a 34mm.  It is however in a great state of tune so I shouldn't complain too much I guess.  :)
