Hey E-C,
Just logged in after several days' absence and saw your post and questions about
my Thunderbolt. It was a 1960 single carb model, with the old 4spd Berman box with
1st gear being up, as I remember. Possible 1st could have been down, memory plays
tricks at my age. Overall it was fairly reliable, but you had to be willing to wrench on
it regularly to keep it happy. Sort of like the Bullets. The biggest problems I had were
oil leaks, electrical, and having to have the tranny rebuilt a couple of times. I loaned
it to a buddy and he let all the oil leak out and lunched the engine. When kept in tune
it was a fun ride and I would not mind having another one.
Ride Safe, Tex
