  • It's Time To Ride!!!
on: June 16, 2014, 04:19:46 am
I'm now an authorized Royal Enfield Owner. We returned from a dealer in Kentucky with a Maroon C5 Chrome Friday afternoon. It came with burgandy saddlebags, butterfly bars, BPR6ES plug, pillion seat all installed and EFI exhaust which is to be drop shipped to me.

Today was the first chance I've had to ride it. Rode 152 miles through the secondary roads of Sequatchie Valley over a 4 hour time frame.

Oh yes, it is a Fathers Day gift from my wife.

Notice: she is not for sale at any price. :D

Welcome aboard. I don't need a new wife, the one I have now is the one who approved my purchase. As for your new ride, it is kind of customary to post pics.

Congrats on a great bike and a great wife, to both of you! When my Yamaha blew up I gave it away. My wife blew up and I'm still making payments. :-\

My last wife cost me many hundreds of thousands of dollars, I do not desire another.

We have the same bike, same color and all. Such a lovely machine. I am VERY INTERESTED in the maroon matching saddlebags, please tell me more.

That's my bike to a 'T'!  Beautiful!

Please tell me more about the saddlebags.

My mileage is always in the high 60's. Never over 70 or less than 65.

exactly the same bike and bags i had minus the pillion seat. bike runs and sounds better with the efi silencer and while your at it get yourself a mini windscreen and petrol wise you will add more miles to the gallon. worked for me.
my new c5 is due next week held up by shipping delay to OZ. after that it's just a waiting game for a phone call from the dealer to pick it up.
mods this time. i think windscreen -saddle bags - efi muffler and the iridium plug. almost forgot better quality drive chain as the factory chain is crap!

Funny all I saw on Enfield Gear was black and tan....

How do they mount? How is the capacity? To they rub on anything or damage the paint?

FastDoc,

They are at the bottom of that page, try this link: http://nfieldgear.com/enfield-store/aftermarket-parts-accessories/luggage/leather-express-saddlebags.html

They mount with three leather straps, two on top one on bottom. They will rub paint off rear fender support unless you add some electrical tape or use some paint protector such as 3-M clear protector.

That's a beautiful bike and those are nice bags. To bad they don't fit the B5, which is what I have.

My wife and I went our separate ways 15 years ago, after many years of grief and misery. She even forbid me to have a motorcycle. I did get 2 wonderful daughters out of the deal though. I am not looking for another wife. But it is nice you have such a great one.
