Your on your 5th?  That beats me.  I'm still on my 1st and totally enjoying it after owning it for 11 years.

Yes, it is a bit underpowered for the weight but with good tires on it, it will corner as good or better than a Corvette and in tight twistys it will easily outrun the overpowered beasts.  ;D

For those who haven't driven a MX-5 Miata, they handle like a fast steering go cart. ;D  ;D
I just wish they weighed about the same as the Triumphs, MG's and Healeys of the old days.
Those old British cars weighed about 800-1000 pounds less.

Z3 huh? I for some reason never cared for BMWs, but am seriously considering getting a Mazda Miata.
When I sold my last Airhead, I pretty much gave up on BMW(Bavarian money wasters) The new bikes are ugly to my eyes, & priced beyond what I'd pay.
Nothing against BMW Mini's & Roadsters. For the money you can't beat an MX5 Miata, the early ones are very inexpensive now. My favorite body style is the 1999-2003, I drive a 2001. All Miatas are basically fine, forgiving, bullet proof cars. My 2001 is black with a tan convertible top, & leather Nardi interior & 3 spoke steering wheel. I run it mostly with the accessory hard top, it is quieter, faster, & 100% leak proof. My 2001 has the bigger engine, & came with the big brake sport suspension. It is NOT underpowered or slow, I always need to reign myself in, it's happy to cruise at 90 mph. You will not be disappointed with a Miata. Including a couple of pix.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

we both have the same nb's and i've got to say they are indeed a very good sports car. ive had mine for 4 years now and has travelled about 35,000 miles. its a 2004 model factory turbo - in the states called the mazdasoeed extremly fast with a lot of work done to the motor/exhaust/ re-chipped-etc etc and does the 0 to 60 mph in a shade over 5 seconds.
the z3 is a great looker and was more an impulse buy while waiting for the c5.but no-where near as good as the mx5.
here in oz z3 were highly expense and ran from $80k new to $133K for the mighty powerful z3m

Anything badged Mazdaspeed is a bad ass car.   :D   Mazda is also one of the only car companies in the world that has factory race parts for sale to the general public AND if you take your car to the dealership and have them install a stage 3 turbo with the works, you will drive out of there still maintaining a full factory warranty.

That's a sexy little roadster there wildbill.   8)

While we are drifting this thread....I recall a hilarious episode of Top Gear in which the intrepid hosts proceed to travel from Iraq to Bethlehem in three convertibles- a Fiat, a Miata and a Z3.  Ahhhhh yes, here it is.
