Hi
3-yr-old EFI Electra.
Suddenly the low beam on the headlamp is quite dim - barely visable even. The high beam is still nice and bright. It's never been a problem before, so I'm assuming the wiring is correct.
Is the bulb simply in need of replacement?

More than likely.  Incandescent and halogen bulbs tend to get very dim right before burning out.  Being that motorcycle headlights are on all the time, they do burn accordingly to how often you ride.
