Well, it's been awhile, about 4 years :-) since I started this simple change. Back in 09 I decided to change my 2000 Bullet so I could turn it's lights on and off at my discretion. Now on my 2000 Bullet USA import, the origonal handlebar controls do not have a  on/off switch (See photo of removed switch) So I ordered an non-import switch that does and installed it on the bike.  I then proceeded to remove the short jumper harness behind the headlight. I have the horn, tail lights, parking lights, brake lights and all dash lights working, Except the headlights high or low beam, unless I hold the spring loaded headlight flash switch on and then my headlight comes on but only as long as I hold the spring loaded switch on.
I would like to get this to work, 4 years and I still can't figure it out lol. Any advise appreciated

I had the same issue with my '99...hated that i couldn't turn it off. I just used the kill switch as the headlamp switch. Works great and still have use of the hi/lo control. Although, I did sacrifice the kill switch, but I never used it.

Finally after two days of screwing with this thing, I managed to get the non US import switch to work. Now I am in control of my own destiny (and Bullet lighting) the way God and freedom loving people everywhere intended! LOL.
