Has something changed here with photos attached to messages?

Used to be when I clicked on thumbnails of attached photos, they would open full size in the message window - often too big, since most attached photos are large files.  To see a big photo resized to fit a window, I'd have to right-click and open in a new window (or tab) to see the whole thing on a full page.  If I wanted to see the full zoom, I could click the image and it would zoom.

Now, when I click the image, it automatically opens, resized to fit, in a new window - better!

Has there been a forum change, or is it something on my end?
