New left over 2012 C5.
First oil change faithfully at 300 miles.
Very clean, mostly clear oil with very little hint of metallic particles, sump screen clean, drain plug magnetic very little amount of particles.
Didn't need it so early but I have some piece of mind.

Its worth following the break in procedures and doing that early oil change. My G5 had a bit more junk in it. But it was a 2011 that I purchased in April 2013 and had been sitting on the showroom floor for a while.

Its been a great machine and I love it. Be prepared to maybe disconnect the side stand kill switch. The UCE bikes are good machines and the build quality seems to improve with each model year.

Enjoy your Royal Enfield and post a pic of your motorcycle when you can. Welcome!

Side Stand switch goes tonight!  Messed with it many times already including killing engine while running down the road.  Best way to disable?

I purchased my 2012 C5 Military in July 2013 and had the dealer do the the first oil change in September along with a few squawks like the kick start seal was leaking oil.
Today I change the oil and filter my self at 1000 miles, and that should take me a while.
I wish you well with your new machine. They certainly are fun to ride and work on.

At the rear of the engine, on the left side,  you will see the wire coming from the side stand switch.
It goes up the seat frame tube a short distance to a electrical connector.
Unplug the connector and your done.
If the loose wires are flopping around, you might want to use a nylon zip tie to secure them.

You can easily remove the entire switch & its wire pigtail. Clean & neat & gone.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure
