Have just replaced my speedometer on my trusty 2011 G5 with a digital instrument which includes a tachometer. Having connected all the usable components I find the tachometer when connected to the HT coil to provide a pulse reads at half speed. Question: does the crank position sensor give just one pulse per revolution and would it be safe to splice into the line and which colour wire? I see on the wiring diagram for the new Continental GT it's tacho is connected to the crank sensor. Thanks folks.
Now 2011 Royal Enfield G5 and just added 2014 Continental GT and latest 2015 Ducati 803 Scrambler Urban Enduro
