I am a Freakin New Guy.  First bike ever and new rider.  I have made a couple posts so far.  Got my bike the beginning of the month just after completing an MSF course and earning my license.  I am very impressed by the information and assistance offered on this forum.  I only hope I will be able to provide some worthy contributions.  I have a new 2014 C5 Military in green with a custom seat from the shop.  As a former tanker in the Army I can turn a wrench and love to tinker.  By all I have read this is an excellent bike to tinker on.  So here is to years of enjoyment! ;D

Tanker - Welcome!  Our stories are exactly the same - except I've never worked on, or driven, or ridden in a tank.  :(   I work on a ferry, i.e. I'm a glorified bus driver/janitor...

Don't worry about "contributing". Just share your riding stories and let us all flash back to the start of all this enjoyment. The wrenching stories will come.

You've done everything right. Starting with a reasonable bike, and took the MSF. I still remember my first ride. I bought a 1966 Suzuki 200cc two stroke new. The dealer wheeled it out into the alley and showed me the controls. He had me ride it to the end of the block and back then sent me on my way. To this day riding it home through city traffic was the scariest ride of my life.
Welcome aboard.

Thanks to all for the welcome.  I have already gotten some looks, comments and questions on my bike.  All good comments at that.  I cannot wait to finish my break-in so I can travel and see more.  I think having the break-in is good for me as a new rider, it allows me to learn the bike at lower speeds and improve my skills along the way.
