Hi folks, back in my youth, it seemed that I kick started my bikes...a lot!  My newer rides don't have that handy aspect.  I am kind of tired of pushing my R1100RSL home from various parts of Kennewick and Richland, Washington.  I guess as the 4th owner Im also the guy who gets to fix everything...every year.  LOL

So with that said, I see a kick starter in the brochures, is it REAL?  Or is it cosmetic?

Thanks for your help!

Tom :o

"They're real - and they're fantastic!"

There was a short while when the C5 models didn't have it, but currently every model ships with the kick start.

Tom,

All of the current 500cc UCE models have both kick and electric start.  At least the ones they sell in the U.S.

Cheers,

Dan K.

Thanks for the information!  I was beginning to wonder if the only bikes with kick starters anymore were a dwindling number of dirt bikes.  As soon as I finish the current repair, I think the BMW is going up for sale.  Now I have to find someplace or someone within a couple of hundred miles who has a Royal Enfield for sale.  :)  These guys look like a lot of fun, I already have a sidecar rig, but its nice to have something I can hop on and go as well.
