That's quite an accomplishment.  Especially to beat out the KTM Duke 390 which seems to be the latest big craze in India with its high reving single that puts out 43hp and its anti-lock disk brakes.

With the current setup they won't be able to beat the D390s. D390 hits 100kph under 5.5 seconds, which is really great! But I really hope to see Royal Enfields nailing KTMs! :D

That's cool that RE won this award, congrats to them!  Kind of odd to me that it beat out the Duke though, I'm guessing that the RE had quite a bit of favoritism going for it.  Let's face it, we all (well, almost all) love our Enfields to death, but comparing the Continental to the Duke is like comparing an Hyundai Elantra to a Ford SVT Raptor.  Just saying.

Considering the source . . .  Might have been a little bias there.

It would have been better to compare the Conti to all other production cafe bikes to come up with a "best", rather than something like the KTM.  APple and oranges really.

If they compared the GT with all of the other production cafe bikes that were new in 2014, the Royal Enfield Continental would win hands down.

There are no other new 2014 cafe bikes other than the RE. :)

Well, strictly speaking, yes.  But a better comparison might have been to the likes of the Triumph Thruxton maybe?

Cheers,
