Hey Everyone!  First of all I'd like to say thanks to all members on the forum here that helped me get the Blackhawk restored, I greatly appreciate it!  It's been one year since I started restoring the Blackhawk last winter.  It's a been an exciting, and at times an UNCERTAIN road, but it's been a lot of fun.  I've made new friends and great memories and endless hours of conversation.  So, this morning I decided that I was going to put together a video of all the exciting stuff I've been through with the bike this first year.  I actually wasn't able to get all the pics and video I wanted in there, but I got most of it.  Enjoy!  And as always feel free to comment!     :D

Nice Scotty!

Maybe you should've thanked your wife before you thanked the forum members!  ;D   But I see you gave her bigger thanks, so that's ok...

Scottie, I'm gonna give you another little push: both you and that bike deserve a proper seat cover!  If not for the bike, do it for your ass...

Thanks everyone!  Believe it or not it took me 4 hours to put that little video together.

ERC - Thanks, actually I owe a LOT of my thanks to you!  As far as my health I honestly don't know how I was able to keep going on like I was.  It definitely took a toll on my body, but I have been feeling better the last few weeks since I've changed my diet.

mattz - Look dude, my sewing machine is still broke, my wife doesn't know squat about sewing, and I've been working 6 days a week!  Geesh!  ;D  Seriously tho, I've just been slammed.  I barely have time to ride let alone work on the damn thing.  I guess I just need to take a weekend off and do it.

Great vid man... what more can I say about the Blackhawk.  It's an awesome motorcycle and huge props to you for giving it a new lease on life.

Really cool to see some of the restoration process.  What's going on the the picture where the entire bike and frame are taped off, except of the engine?

(also - awesome that you were blasting around in the snow and included the mini-lowside!)

Awesome work on the bike, and the video!  I love to see the bike being ridden, that's what they're meant for!  Props, dude!

Boggy - The pic you were talking about was right before I painted the engine and trans gun metal metallic.

Speaking of "vintage"...

I was in a boot shop the other day; I happened to be wearing an old pair of Vasque hikers I bought while I was in college - they're well worn and repaired in a number of places, but they still work and I still wear them on occasion.  Anyway, one of the clerks walked by me and said, "Hey man, nice vintage Vasques!"  I got to go all old man on his ass - "These aren't vintage!  I bought them myself when I was in school!  Who're you calling vintage?!?" etc.  It was pretty funny.

Hijack over.  Umm, excuse me for a sec...  Hey you kids, get off my lawn!!!

I had my first bike when I was 13, a 1978 Kawi KE125.  LOTS of great memories made on that bike.  I had a single Polaroid of it at one point but I don't know what ever happened to it, but this is exactly what it looked like.

As far as going down in the snow, I would have gotten up and danced a jig, but I don't trust that Amal carb so I was quick to stand it back up on 2 wheels.  :)
