Wow! Just received e-mail advising me my dealer in Santa Fe is retiring and closing shop January 31st!
I'll be talking with him tomorrow about my warranty stuff, so if he gets the left switch module ordered hopefully I can get it before he closes so I can install it myself.

Kevin, what's SOP for this kind of situation? Next closest dealers are Phoenix and Fort Worth.

You know, you can order direct from ENFIELD & save some steps, or order from INDIA & save some $$, but wait 3 weeks. I have yet to need a "DEALER" for my 2010 G5 Deluxe. Closest one to me is over an hour away, & primarily a BMW dealer who is PRICEY.
Best Wishes, Craig McClure

I'd love to have a dealer an hour away - the closest for me is four!

Don't worry heloego, there are ways...

No problem ordering direct from NFG or others. I've done enough of that already and their service is superb, just as the dealer's has been.
I'm just wondering if NfG/CMW will deal with me directly when a part needs to be replaced under warranty.

You can contact CMW directly and explain the situation.  I think they're pretty supportive of owners who live far away from the nearest dealer.

I lived an hour away from my dealer and I always enjoyed the ride over. It was a great excuse to go riding for a couple of hours or so. Sometimes I'd take the long way home just to tack on another hour or two! I another dealer about 8 minutes away. I would never go there for service, even if the owner has been a friend of mine for 20 years.

I feel your pain, but never having been anywhere near an RE dealer, not really. I bought my brand new '08 Classic from an out-of-business dealer's lawyer. Actually, I stole it.

Buy manuals, order stuff from CMW, call 'em for help & ask your dealer what he'll sell you for 20 cents on the dollar before he shuts the doors   :)   ;)

Yeah, they're moving stuff out dirt cheap! Already talked with Meg, and they'll hold the C5 parts until I return from California and will make me a good bulk price.

Heloego,
The dealer down here in Las Cruces is Solano Scooters, phone number is 575-523-4863. Owner is Wayne Ward and is a stand up guy. I ordered my Continental GT from him. Tell him Andy sent ya.

FWIW, There's a dealer in Denver and Ft. Collins, CO.  391 miles and 455 miles distant from Santa Fe, respectively.

Cheers,

Dan K.

Too many other fingers in the fire at the moment, or I'd jump on it! Not to mention I'd have to sell the house and move. When I spoke with them last week I was told they had a fish on the line, but couldn't tell me any more.

Update!
The house mechanic, Mateo, will take over as RE Dealer in Santa Fe! Though the business will re-locate within the city, the great service will continue!
Thanks to CMW for helping to make this possible, and BIG congrats to Mateo for fulfilling a lifelong dream!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D

That's great news!  Having a knowledgable dealer and shop nearby is a great thing.  My local RE dealer (Scoot Over - Tucson, AZ) has two mechanics that are crazy about these bikes.  They give advice, their knowledge matches up with much of what I've discovered on this forum, and they can order the Nfield Gear stuff without shipping costs!

CMW will work with you if you have a warranty issue . There is no reason for an A&P ( unless you work in the meat dept.) not to be able to fix your own RE.

Btw , my dealer is over 800 miles away . When he retires will be 1500 miles or more.

The Shop manager, Mateo, will be opening soon for RE service, so no problem there. If I can fix it myself, no problem there, either, but I would prefer not to have to pay for parts as long as the warranty is intact.
I'm covered in any case.
