I had a mild stroke Saturday after Thanksgiving, have been in the hospital ever since.  The stroke has effected my balance and throat.  I can't swallow and my voice is only a whisper now, I can't stand or walk without falling.  Working with speech therapist and also physical therapy.  It might take a long time to recover.  I am done riding for a while.

You guys have a Merry Christmas.

Your story generally can't be to good when you end up in the hospital. But I do see a few positive things from your story. Thank god this was a mild stroke and you were able to get immediate treatment. Hopefully the doctors can pinpoint the reason for the stroke's occurrence and put you on the path for a full recover and a long healthy life.

Terry, my prayer for you is a full and speedy recovery.

Hang in there brother.

Terry, sorry to hear about your condition. Get well soon. Going without riding sucks! Get back on as soon as you can! It's the best therapy.

Thanks for all the words of encouragement.

The day went much better than I expected.  I got to spend some good time with the therapists today.  Walked about 240 feet (with help) the speech therapist brought some kind of electric device that connected to my throat, sent electronic pulses to my throat muscles, they also gave me some exercises to do when I am back in my room.  One of my doctors came by, said I was doing good, he thinks I need to be moved to a full time therapy center.

It has turned cold here, a winter storm is predicted for the next 4 or 5 days, couldn't do much if my health was good.

I just need to man up, I can get thru this, some people think all things happen for a reason, maybe it is true.

Thanks again
