Saw them this morning. Pretty interesting, they speed trialed it and reached 98mph. Also, a dude and his wife ruin a KTM. good show.
2005E Fixed and or Replaced: ignition, fenders,chainguard,wires,carb,headlight,seat,tailight,sprockets,chain,shock springs,fork springs, exhaust system, horn,shifter,clutch arm, trafficators,crankcase vent.

I lost a lot of interest in the Badger project once they stopped working with Ace. I am sure once winter sets in for real and I am going stir crazy I will find and watch it and probably enjoy it, just not as much...

Interesting viewing.  That KTM build was a disaster.  I was always waiting to flip back to the RE build as fast as possible.  98.13 is plenty fast on that little bike.

That KTM...lol...my kids woulda dug it...they're into "steam-punk"...whatever that is. It was novel I'll just leave it at that...
I rode Japanese bikes as a kid...then I grew up and got some British Thunder

What happened to Ace being part of the team? I imagine race rules prohibited the 535cc's?

the KTM was ugly as Sin, and I 'get'steampunk and even appreciate it...

Yes. For the LSR stuff the bike went back to a strict 500cc, as opposed to the overbore (i.e. Fireball spec) it was allowed to run at Mid-O.

535 is a cheater motor at Mid Ohio.  ;)  .080" max overbore for singles. You running the Ohio Mile again this year?


Yes. For the LSR stuff the bike went back to a strict 500cc, as opposed to the overbore (i.e. Fireball spec) it was allowed to run at Mid-O.

Ha! Right you are!

The bike was legal at Mid-O due to its one off Ace piston, the 80 over allowance netted 522cc, if memory serves. But to build it back to a 500 would have required ACE to do another one off, which for a number of reasons no one was really up for.

Ohio Mile next year? Don't know. We went back September of 2012, after the Cafe Racer thing, and not only bettered the 98 (which was a new class record for Ohio) with a new MPS/PG record of 101.7mph, but set 3 other class records as well.

A team running a Buell Blast (500cc puchrod) has since broken our MPS/PG record with a 103 and then raised their own record to 110. We still have quite a lot of potential in the Badger, with mid to hi teens very possible. But I know the Buell will be VERY highly developed for 2014, running among other thing a very sophisticated EFI system. Their goal, as I understand it, is 135. Which, of course, would be VERY hard to compete against. Especially with our budget, which usually hovers around non-existent. I like a challenge, but against THAT, might be time to call it a day. At least at Ohio. The Loring, Maine records however, are still very much with in reach.  ;)

Damn. I was hoping the record was still around 100. Efi should have its own class for that. Damn buells.

95.3729 mph, which we still hold. But I'm guessing not for long.
