Probably no one on this side of the pond can answer this, maybe one of our "Down Under" friends can.

Anyone know if the Conti is equipped with the same crappy chain that comes on the rest of the Enfield line? How about battery and spark plug, do the usual upgrades apply? No big deal, just curious. I guess we get a 'full sized' headlight, that will be nice not too have to fiddle with the 7" conversion kit.

None of these have landed in the US as far as I can determine... I will probably stop by my 'local' dealer this weekend, really thinking about putting a deposit down if he can guarantee that $5999 price. I have a feeling that price will jump up come Spring ... can't see them pricing this model below the rest of the line on a permanent basis. He offers an inside storage plan that I may take advantage of, being its the start of a long cold winter here. That and we're moving to a new home early March time frame ... smaller garage,    :( (but large walk out basement! :)

Anyone else here waiting on one?

I ordered one.  Hopefully the Continental GT will not require too many upgrades to make it more reliable.  I already have a 2012 C5 with an Inder sidecar  and a 1997 highly modified Harley Custom.  I debated about getting the RE Continental GT, Moto Guzzi V7 Racer, or wait for a bigger RE twin cylinder.  I really wanted a newer and bigger RE twin, but did not know when a twin might come out.  Well, I will have to follow this thread and you to make any enhancements on the RE Conti 535.

I am definitely looking forward to what shows up on my GT (tentative delivery date is January) and wouldn't be surprised to find the same chain, battery and spark plug.

My C5 surprisingly came with a 7" OEM Minda headlight that has subsequently been replaced twice by variants of 7" Adjure tri bars.

Did you both get the $5995 "introductory" price? I have to think that is going to change very soon after introduction - no way they can price the "top of the line" model below the base B5 for long.

Hope we can get the "Continental GT Cafe Racer" on the forum on this board opened up soon...  ;D

Yes, I got the introductory pricing.  I also got a refundable deposit if I should decide not to proceed with the purchase upon seeing and sitting on the actual bike (so it seems like a win-win situation).  There is a folder in this forum called "Continental GT Cafe Racer" that could accommodate the Conti 535 dialogue and maybe the administrator could move this topic there if he feels it is warranted.  I am still wondering if RE will come out with a bigger twin sometime soon.

Is the yellow color option available to those in the USA?  Nevertheless, I will probably still go for the red if given the choice.

I have one in order as well. Cali will get there's later. I'm ok with that. I want the zoomi pipe and the dual seat. so those are upgrades I guess.
if I put a 60 dollar chain or a 60 dollar battery on it, that's an upgrade too I think. all my bikes have upgrades. from my Z1 with braced frame, Dresda swingarm, Race Tech suspension, 4k dollar race motor to my BMW touring bike with taller screen and highway pegs.
my point is, we all upgrade or modify our cars, motorcycles, lawn mowers to suit us. some out of necessity some out of perceived improvement.
I think I can buy a spark plug when the time comes.

$5995 intro price?!
Christ, here in Oz they're listed at $11,990 ride away in Perth, $10,990 in Melbourne.
ETA is around January 2014 but aside from that, very few details, none regarding chain and headlamp.

Yeah, sometimes I think that even If I had all the money available, I would still not buy it for that amount. It is clearly a joke. Oh well. I hope they reduce the prices here. Rather import it yourself with all the paper-work hassle and what not, that would be still worth it and way cheaper.

Ive got money down on one as well. I was told that it would be here in December. We'll see on that. Im not minding to wait too much with the cold weather here. My last bike was an 09 Bonneville standard. I sold it swearing I was done with motorcycles and was content with just riding scooters. I saw the Continental GT and couldn't get over it. Had to have one. This is going to be a fun bike!

Yes. I was given the same price as well.

Chain, spark plug, rear view mirrors, battery, muffler will likely be gone well before I even get to ride the bike!  It is winter in tundra land and riding season is over till April/May  >:(

There's no way I would pay $11k+ for the Conti as listed here in Australia.

I'll definitely take one for a test ride though!

Yeah , I agree .  Way to expensive. Don't know how the importer can do that . Wtf is he thinking ? Almost double US price. If I ever get my hands on one I'm gonna ride it like I stole it .

I don't think the $5995 price was anywhere near the list price for the bike. I think some dealer is low balling the whole thing big time!

The MSRP for the Conti-GT is listed as $5995 right here on this site.  I would assume that will be the price since Kevin has it posted.

What do you think of the yellow color they just released on the GT at the Indian launch?  Looks interesting but I think I will stick with the red.
