I've been away for a while, it seems there are a few changes to the C5's in the last year or two, different forks, 19" front wheel and a kicker. Anything else?
The C5 Military is calling out to me, and I'm starting to pay attention to it.

Welcome back!  Good to see you are looking at getting another one... :) That pretty much sums up the changes compared to 2009.

not sure on the older c5's but my 2012 I noticed has quit a bit of nylock nuts on a lot of bolts. I had read that the older RE's had issues with nuts and bolts coming loose. So far not one loose bolt of anysort. The chain on mine is an o-ring chain and not the standard chain that's been mentioned before in older RE's. Though the grip about the stock sparkplug seems to be true on the new c5's, atleast it would seem so in my case. I had issues kickstarting my bike after it had been running for a while. swapped plugs and so far bike will start when its warm now. There is a tsb for the kickstand micro switch, the cure for that is actually grinding down the kickstand where the switch makes contact. My dealership did this for me and no problems since.

Good to see you back.  The new fork and 19" front wheel are the only major changes.  How's your back doing?

The fit and finish is getting better. Also, the emblems on the toolbox now say "Classic 500" instead of Bullet 500". They still have the cannon emblem. The Desert Storm color I know is made at the new factor. I suspect the battle green is made there as well. I know the Thunderbird and Continental GT are made there.

I would say you can see marked improvements in the bikes year to year. I saw the Continental GT for the first time in person last weekend and it is a big leap in terms of fit and finish.

For the C5 I would get one of the ones after they changed the forks and put the larger tire up front. These eliminated a wobble issue some folks ran into.

It all sounds good, my old C5 was a great bike and I never had a problem with it. I put 3.50x18 tires front and rear and that took care of the very slight wobble issue  had. My back is still the same, but I'm learning how to live with the limitations, and I think I'm almost ready to try life with a C5 again, this time I'll go for the military instead of the red.

Oh yeah, red is much faster, but I won't be doing nearly as much cleaning with a military. My days of getting down on my knees and detailing a bike are over ;D

Well , It just ain't right for the guy who was the first C-5 owner in the States... to not have another one !!    Hey Dan'o  , how have you been and welcome back.

And I know from our early experiments that Black WAS the fastest..... But a combination of  British racing green and Silver seems to be a little better.  ::)

Nope forget about the new vintage cream and maroon... no one should buy that one. Take it from someone who bought one. No one else in the country should have to have the color that I have had to settle with...  ;D lol
