how could there be water in the gas? is that really harmful? condensation?
Have you ever been able to light a glass of water on fire with a match?
Yes, water/condensation in the gas is bad. But it's an easy fix. Disconnect your fuel line from the tank and then put a cup, preferably clear and clean, under your carb and and pull the drain plug on the bottom of the bowl. A clear 20oz soda bottle with the top cut off works well for this task, but clean it well and dry it out completely. Make sure you get every drop out of the carb, wiggle the bike if you need to and can do it safely. If there is any water in your fuel it will settle down at the bottom of the cup and be easily visible. I would also get a larger vessel and drain a good 10 or 20oz out of your fuel tank and inspect the fuel in there as well. If you see any sign of water anywhere try to drain as much as possible out of the tank. Then go to the auto parts store or gas station and buy some Heet to add to the rest of the fuel in the gas tank. It is specifically designed for removing water from fuel.
