The newest RE bike Continental GT is priced at a NJ dealer for US $5995 which is cheaper than G5 and C5, and same as B5 ! That is significantly less than the highest priced C5 $6695.

They do not have it in stock and expect it next month.

Hmmm....  Wonder if they just mis-priced it.  Did you just see the price or did you ask them and double check?

The current online price lists it the same.  I was wondering if they mispriced it online, too.

Yup, there it is on the site.  Even cheaper than the B5.  If that's correct, they'll sell fast!

I was told it was caused by the lower exchange course of the rupee.

Might want to put a deposit on one before they decide to raise the price.  Looks like a bargain! :o

Royal Enfield is moving to have few export markets with more units each. I think Royal Enfield thinks the US can be one of those markets. I am hopeful the Continental GT moves in the thousands in a year in the US rather than the hundreds. I know this. I watched folks at the Royal Enfield booth at the Progressive International Motorcycle Shows in Dallas and the response to that motorcycle was quite positive.

Kevin Mahoney and his wife were at the Barber Vintage Festival with two GT's and both confirmed that the price was going to be $5995. They had mentioned that much back and forth discussions went on with Enfield regarding MSRP. Everyone that heard this when I was standing there were surprised, I heard lots of: "wow"...."really"...."damn"...and maybe a "shiiiiit" They'll probably sell like hotcakes!

$5995 is a very fair price for a brand new street bike.  Add to the fact that it's vintage styled and has been making a lot of motorcycle news and I think the Continental will do very well here in the US and probably India as well.  But RE REALLY needs to look into more advertising.  I mean there are ads out there, but if they really want to break into the US market they need to realize that majority of the US people buy products based upon word of mouth and what they hear and see.  If RE was to make a radio commercial or 2 and 1 real solid TV commercial, I think they would open up their business to a whole new entity in the US market.  Even to this day when I speak to people about my bike, the only people who have even heard of Royal Enfield are older men in their late 40's or older.  Most people say something like "Who makes that?" or "When did they start making those?"  If they started pumping air time, it would open the eyes of thousands of people who before would never have considered an Enfield because they never heard of it.

I think classic motor works has been doing a good job of promoting the bikes, considering the numbers. A TV ad would add thousands of dollars to the price of each bike. Obviously not an option. The bikes are showing up at shows and in the press. Sales have been strong. The continental GT will really help expand the brand.

Not to mention the half year (and more) waiting lists domestically.
No use to boost demand if you can't meet it.

I hadn't seriously thought about the GT primarily because i figured at least $7,500 to start and i hadn't seen and sat on one. So i bought my B5 and up until now i was OK. But now i am sort of pissed off. My dealer didn't see this coming as far as i know, i don't have buyers remorse but it does come uncomfortably close to that feeling.

at this stage no discount this way - last price was around $9500 plus on road cost...say $10500 ride away.
but if they do drop the price - next year i might get two royal enfields.
just in case the cafe job is too hard on my back and better to look at and one i can ride lol
