Letter sent to an Australian newspaper -

Drought trigger clear as day.

When I was a kid we never had drought after drought.
Then we started with daylight saving. We started with a little
bit, but now we have six months of the year daylight saving.
It has just become too much for the environment to cope with.
It is so logical, for six months of the year we have an extra hour each day of that hot afternoon sun.
I read somewhere than scientific studies had shown there is a lot less moisture in the atmosphere which means we get less rain.
I believe this one hour extra sun is slowly evaporating all the
moisture out of everything.
Why can't the government get the CSIRO to do studies on this,
or better still, get rid of daylight savings.
They have to do something before it is too late.

We who live in Arizona don't have to put up with daylight savings time.  We're one of the few States in the US who don't have it.

Even without it, it still gets pretty dry here in Arizona although towards the end of summer we did have a few 2 and 3 inch rains.  Normally, we have just 8 to 12 inch rainfall.

Oh.  For those who don't live here, a 2 or 3 inch rain here is the distance between the drops out on the driveway. :)

The real question is, what do they do do with all the daylight they save? Is it set up like Carbon credits or something? Enquiring minds need to know.Someone has to be making money on this. Also, is Aussie daylight upside down? ;D ;D ;D.

Glad you asked, Roverman. As it happens I've been saving mine up for some time and have ready supply, good for rainy days, flowers in autumn and for convincing the wife that the sun really does shine out of your nether regions. I would be happy to send you some for a small consideration, although I can't be held responsible should the daylight escape in transit. Boxes must of course be kept inverted to prevent said sunlight from flowing out.

Its getting cold and dark.
I could use some saved daylight to help warm the globe.

The Government already spent it.
