I agree with you Chuck D!
I too support freedom of speech through expression while recognizing respect for others is important too. Not that I'm all PC or anything, it's just part of civility.
This may be getting away from the main topic, but it's a real shame that "civics" as a subject was jettisoned by most school districts sometime in the early 70's (I believe).
I still think that there is a lot of value in shared norms of public behavior that stress simple politeness and consideration of the other guy. More to the point, (mis)using a countries national symbol lost it's value to shock a long time ago, so it's worthless as "art" in my opinion. Flag burning at this point can only be viewed as trite and unoriginal, so, what are you left with? Crass commercialism as in the case of the doormat.
Either way, it smells pretty bad.
