As a Patriot Guard member,I helped honor a WWll U.S.Army veteran who had passed away.He had seen 200 days of front line duty in Italy.He had been a tanker.In Germany,he was following the lead tank into action when his tank just quit.The crew left the Ronson and were taken in by a German family for 16 days,when they were "rescued" by Allied forces.
The tank crews were under orders to leave behind any who could not keep up.
According to the pictures and family input,this hero had lived a fine life.
It is an honor to stand for these people.
