Yes, crash guards are designed to protect the bike, not the rider.

That said, you might be able to adapt those.  If you know the bolts on the frame those mount to, you just need to know the distance on the bars and the distance on your bike.  If they're not that different you should be able to drill a new hole and mount them up.  Call CMW and ask if they can measure.

Actually it's a huge misnomer. They're intended to mount camera's; to provide attaching points for bags and stuff and straps, running the colors; ultimately to have something to grab on to if the bike got stuck in the mud. They are also useful in parting the waves, of traffic that is.

I hardly scratched the surface of their uses, and they call them crash bars, ...
