I'm a very new Enfield owner (and new biker in general). I have a 2009 efi Bullet which I've had for only a short period of time. Up until this afternoon it started without any problem. Now the electric start just causes the engine to turn over, but not start. After two or three tries it became a lot weaker sounding (which seems like low battery), but I tried jumping it from a (non-running) car, which makes it sound a lot livelier, but it still won't start.

It sounds more or less the same way it would if I was trying to start it with the kickstand down. Any suggestions about what to do next are appreciated!

I'm sure your ES has burned your battery down in short order. If you don't have a battery charger, connect it again to a jump battery. First thing to check is if you're getting spark at the plug, sounds to me that you're not. If no spark, it can be a dozen things...get back with us. If you are getting spark, check the fuel source. You gotta do a little trouble shooting first, then update with a new post.
Good Luck.

Yes, you want to be posting in the "UCE" portion of the forum.

As for not starting, I'd bet on a fouled spark plug being your problem.  The factory Bosch spark plug is garbage.  Go get yourself a new NGK BR6ES spark plug and you should be good to go.  If not, you may have a fuel issue.  You may also want to look into having your battery tested while you're out getting a new plug.  AutoZone, Advance Auto and O'Reilly's all should have your spark plug in stock and also all offer free battery testing.

Sorry for putting this in the wrong forum, I just re-posted in the correct forum and will move my updates over there: http://www.enfieldmotorcycles.com/forum/index.php/topic,17431.0.html

It's not the kill switch, anyway.

I was going to say it can't be the killswitch because when it's in the "off" position it should disable the ES and not allow the starter to turn over.
