Here they are loaded up with a toolbox full of wrenches & sockets, screwdrivers & pliers, etc., an AVL battery, an electric drill, a small sledge hammer & a workshop stool.

I would have added the leaf blower, but it wouldn't balance.

IMPRESSIVE!

I think I'll check out my local Staples' poster board.  I may try to duplicate your bag/box solution.

Thanks.

Edited to add...
Although I like my current canvas/leather bags, I find that their capacity (volume) is insufficient.  I, therefore, just ordered two JUMBO size musette bags - size 15"x15"x5" for $15 each w/ free shipping.  They look like yours, only OD green.

I wish I could still take runs that required me to HAVE bigger bags, but we all gotta slow down when we gotta slow down. 15, 20 miles now & I gotta get off, have a coffee & start back. My bags are mostly for a bag of dog food, a half gallon of 1% milk & some bananas now. Maybe something from AutoZone   ;D

But it's the look that matters, right? World Traveler   ;) Ha!

I just take reasonably short runs with my RE, too.  If I go someplace like the local Walmart, by the time I pick up a gallon of motor oil, a 3 lb. bag of dry cat food, a 4-pack of light bulbs, a 6-pack of men's socks on sale, a pack of computer paper, etc., etc., I have exceeded the limits of my current bags.
