I have a 2004 500cc 5 speed/Sixty-5 with 2000 Miles.  I bought it at 1600 miles.  I noticed that the transmission jumped out of gear often enough to really annoy me.  I paid close attention to my shifting habits, but that didn't seem to matter.  I assume I need to learn how to adjust the clutch, but I'm sure that something else is causing this problem.  Any help would be appreciated.

On a 4 spd there is an adjustment but on a 5 spd you may have an internal part that has some wear.

My 2004 65 Bullet did the same, false neutrals, popping out of gear. I thought the same must be something wrong..I was advised to adjust the clutch. Even though I was sure something must be wrong. I more or less adjusted my clutch as per the Pete Snidal manual says. I screwed my adjustment out. Then screwed it in until i found resistance. Then turn the screw back out half a turn. Then adjust the handle bar lever for the 3mm play. Still get the odd false neutral and very rarely fires out of gear now. But now that is probably down to me.
