No, the out cover comes off to adjust the primary chain.  There is also an inspection plug and level plug.  None come from the factory with a belt.

All of the stock Iron Barrels, AVL's and UCE's use a wet duplex chain for their primary drive.

At 11,400 miles, mine has shown no need for replacement. :)

Belt drive is a relatively new fad in motorcycles.  Vintage bikes didn't, and still don't, come from the factory that way.  The vast majority of new bikes on the market today don't come that way.  There are kits if one wishes to join the ranks of the showey and chromey.  On a 25hp bike, why waste your time and money?

not many drift from tradition,

the belt weighs 6 onnces,
no oil is needed,
a fully sealed bearing will obtain big miles,

no adjustment ever for the life of the belt,
the new kits are getting cheaper
and hidden from view,

All AVL models in the US have electric start which drives the primary sprocket for a chain primary and cannot use a belt. They also have a crank-mounted ignition system which may or may not work with the wider belt cog, even if the electric start system is deleted.
Compatibility with this model is questionable.
