Ideas for tool improvising?

Does anyone have a method for unscrewing the fork leg valve port ( I want to fit a new spring) without buying the rather expensive service tool -( £25 in the UK)?

Put a hex wrench in it or pull your footpegs and use the hex rod they are bolted to. ERC

Sorry, ERC - I meant the threaded spring retainer on the other end of the fork tube ( inside the slider). It has 4 little square indents that really needs a correct tool for unscrewing it. I might try to make something up.
